Getting things done: Inequalities, Internet use and everyday life

چکیده

The study of mundane, everyday uses the Internet remains an emerging field inquiry. Analysing data from a large seven country survey use and adapting concepts methods developed by Bourdieu, we show that there are distinct clusters users who in diverse ways to solve problems, such as buying mobile phone or diagnosing illness. Such problem-solving is dependent upon degrees economic, social, digital cultural capital, varies across countries. A comparative methodological strategy combined multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), hierarchical cluster (HCA), for first time field, factor contingency tables (MFACTs). Extending work Bourdieu sociology class more generally, argue capital functions bridging aiding convertibility other forms benefit already advantaged groups.
